Abstract: 【Abstract】 Lupus erythematosus （LE） is a chronic, recurrent autoimmune disease, and referred to as a spectrum of disorders. One end of the spectrum is cutaneous lupus erythematosus （CLE）, which mainly involves the skin, while the other end of the spectrum is systemic lupus erythematosus, which can involve multiple organs and systems besides the skin. Correctly identifying the skin lesions of lupus erythematosus of distinct subtypes will help early diagnosis and treatment of LE, and promote a better prognosis. This guideline focuses on patients with CLE and aims at providing a more scientific and authoritative reference for diagnosis and management of CLE. With a comprehensive investigation of both domestic and international research advances as well as experts′proposals, the Centre for Lupus Erythematosus Research, Chinese Society of Dermatology has made an update and further supplementation in this guideline on the basis of the previous version, namely, the guideline for diagnosis and treatment of cutaneous lupus erythematosus （2012）. The major updates include the following aspects: a change to the classification system of CLE, addition of Blaschko linear lupus erythematosus （a special subtype）; complements to the clinical and histopathological features of CLE of different types; updates on the treatment recommendations with more detailed descriptions. This guideline is suitable for adult and childhood CLE.
