Rethinking cutaneous mycobacterial infections: from epidemiology to prevention and treatment strategies

Abstract: 【Abstract】 Cutaneous mycobacterial infections are a kind of chronic infection caused by the genus Mycobacterium that usually affects the skin and soft tissues. The epidemiological features of cutaneous mycobacterial infections have undergone changes in recent years with the increase in global population mobility and environmental changes. This review aims to re-examine the epidemiology of, treatment strategies for, and preventive measures for cutaneous mycobacterial infections so as to enhance their diagnosis and treatment and to promote their prevention and control.
