About the Chinese Journal of Dermatology
Chinese Journal of Dermatology (CJD), established in October 1953, is sponsored by the Chinese Medical Association, edited and published by the Institute of Dermatology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS). It aims to provide a platform for academic communication among national clinicians and researchers in various aspects of dermatology and venereology. The contents involve epidemiology, etiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of dermatoses and sexually transmitted diseases, and topics include genetics, carcinogenesis, microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, histopathology, pharmacology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, physical therapy, surgery, and so on. Original research articles, editorials, guidelines and consensus, review articles, case reports, letters are standard features. Commentaries and perspectives are regularly invited. Academic arguments are welcome at all time.
CJD has remained a core periodical in dermatology and venereology, as well as in natural science and biomedicine in China. According to the report from Chinese Science and Technology Paper Citation Database (CSTPCD) in 2017, the total citations, impact factor and comprehensive evaluation score of the journal were 1815, 0.950, and 75.5, respectively. The readers of CJD consist of senior and junior clinicians, researchers and educators in dermatology and venereology as well as other related fields. From CJD, readers can learn the latest guidelines or expert consensus on diagnosis and treatment of dermatoses and STDs in China, commentaries on focal issues in this field, advances in clinical practices and basic researches in dermatology and venereology, as well as first reports of rare dermatoses in China, etc.
CJD Editorial Department has a precise and standard work process for handling manuscripts which can be described as the “3-review-3-proofread” system, i.e. preliminary review by editor, external review by referees, final review on the conference held by editorial board members, multiple rounds of edition & modification by the editor and author, plus proofreading sequentially by the editor, executive editorial board member, and author. These procedures constitute a scientific selecting and reviewing system. The period for a paper from acceptance of manuscripts to final published version of articles averages 6 months. High-quality papers with significant scientific value are usually subjected to advance online publication within 1-3 months after acceptance.
CJD has been indexed by 8 foreign databases, including Scopus, Biological Abstracts, Chemical Abstracts, American Chemical Society,CAB Abstracts,Tropical Diseases Bulletin,Review of Aromatic and Medicinal Plants,Abstracts on Hygiene and Communicable Diseases and the Western Pacific Region Index Medicus (WPRIM). It is also indexed by 10 kinds of domestic databases, including the Chinese Sci-tech Paper and Citation Database (CSTPCD), Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), A Guide to the Core Journals of China, Chinese BioMedical Literature Database on disc, Chinese Medical Current Contents, Chinese Academic Journal (CD-ROM), Wanfang Data-Digital Periodicals.
CJD has received numerous awards and honors. For example, in 2015 and 2017, CJD was ranked as one of the top 100 Excellent Sci-Tech Journals of China by the General Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of China, and obtained financial support from the Elite Sci-Tech Journal Program of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) during 2015-2017. CJD was honored with “High Quality Sci-Tech Journals in China in 2008” by the program workgroup for service and assurance system of high quality Sci-tech journals, Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China, and as “RCCSE Authoritative Academic Journals of China” by the Chinese Academic Journal Evaluation Committee, and Research Center of Chinese Science Evaluation,Wuhan University in 2008. It was also honored with the title of “Hundred Outstanding Academic Journals in China” in 2003 and 2005 by the CSTPCD, won the second prize among the journals with high quality of Chinese Science and Technology Association, Huadong District, and awarded the title of “double ten best” and selected into the Jiangsu journal phalanx in 2002, the second prize among the journals with high quality on the celebration of 85th Anniversary of Chinese Medical Association in 2000.
