Abstract: 【Abstract】 Nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM)are a group of environmental opportunistic pathogens widely distributed in water and soil, and the iatrogenic skin infections they cause have become a significant safety concern in the field of medical aesthetics. With the increasing popularity of minimally invasive injectable cosmetic procedures, cosmetic laser treatments, mammoplasty, abdominoplasty and other invasive cosmetic procedures, the number of NTM skin infection cases has risen substantially. However, a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of these infections remains insufficient among clinicians, and significant differences exist in the etiology, clinical features, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of NTM skin infections associated with different medical aesthetic procedures, which may lead to missed or delayed diagnoses, misdiagnosis, or inappropriate treatment, ultimately affecting patient outcomes. This consensus provides specific recommendations for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of NTM skin infections associated with medical aesthetic procedures. It also establishes a prevention and control system encompassing both institutional and personnel management, aiming to standardize procedures, optimize management, and guide clinical practice.
