Research progress in latent syphilis

Abstract: 【Abstract】 Syphilis is a chronic systemic sexually transmitted disease caused by Treponema pallidum. With the sustained increase in the global incidence of syphilis, a rising trend in latent syphilis has also been observed. This review summarizes the research progress in the epidemiological characteristics, infectivity, pathogenesis, laboratory diagnosis, and treatment of latent syphilis.
