Abstract: 【Abstract】 Syphilis, gonorrhea, and genital herpes are major sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) that require prioritized prevention and control in China. Syphilis has complex clinical manifestations and is classified as primary syphilis, secondary syphilis, tertiary syphilis, neurosyphilis, latent syphilis and congenital syphilis, etc. Gonorrhea mainly affects the urogenital tract, and its clinical manifestations markedly vary from asymptomatic types to complicated types. Genital herpes is a chronic and recurrent STD. The diagnosis of these three STDs should be established by integrating epidemiological history, clinical features, and laboratory findings. Upon diagnosis, treatment should be initiated as early as possible according to recommended regimens, and appropriate follow-up should be performed after treatment. In recent years, the evolving epidemic trends of STDs and advances in diagnostic and therapeutic techniques have deepened the understanding of their transmission, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment. To enhance their prevention and control, the National Center for STD Control of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the Venereology Group of the Chinese Society of Dermatology, and the Subcommittee on Venereology of the China Dermatologist Association convened experts to formulate the "Guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of syphilis, gonorrhea, and genital herpes (2026 edition)".
