Chinese expert consensus on the diagnosis and management of pediatric anogenital lichen sclerosus (2026 edition)

Abstract: 【Abstract】 Pediatric anogenital lichen sclerosus (ALS) is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the genital and anal regions; in severe cases, it can cause anatomical changes, leading to difficulties in urination and defecation, and seriously impair the physical and mental health as well as the quality of life of affected children. The Pediatric Dermatology Group, Professional Committee of Pediatric Allergy, China Maternal and Child Health Association convened Chinese experts in pediatric dermatology and urology, and developed a consensus on the diagnosis and management of pediatric ALS based on a comprehensive review of Chinese and international clinical studies, evidence?based medical evidence, and expert opinions. This consensus comprehensively elaborates on the clinical manifestations, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, disease assessment, treatment, and follow?up of pediatric ALS, aiming to provide guidance for clinicians in its management.
