Abstract: 【Abstract】 Tranexamic acid can treat melasma through multiple steps, such as inhibiting dermal angiogenesis, reducing the number of mast cells and inhibiting their activity, reducing damage to the basement membrane zone, inhibiting melanin synthesis and transport in the epidermis, and promoting the recovery of skin barrier function. This review summarizes the mechanism and efficacy of tranexamic acid in the treatment of melasma, providing more evidence for its clinical application.
