Abstract: 【Abstract】 Chronic hand eczema （CHE） is characterized by heterogeneous clinical presentations and multifactorial etiology, which poses substantial challenges to its clinical evaluation. Qualitative and quantitative assessment of exposure to contact allergens and irritants is crucial for guiding skin testing strategies, improving diagnostic precision, and developing effective strategies for targeted prevention and treatment. Although multiple assessment tools have been developed, most scales lack rigorous scientific validation and have limitations such as subjective bias and poor performance in differential diagnosis. Advances in multi-omics technologies and artificial intelligence have unlocked novel approaches for the assessment of CHE. This article summarizes current assessment methods and recent advances in CHE, aiming to facilitate the selection and development of assessment tools for CHE.
