Treatment of facial psoriasis with 308-nm excimer laser: 42 case report

Abstract:

【Abstract】 Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of the 308nm excimer laser in the treatment of facial psoriasis. Methods 48 patients with facial psoriasis were enrolled in the study and treated with excimer laser. The initial dose was based on two-fold of a predetermined minimal erythema dose(MED). Patients were treated thrice a week for 10-20 times. The parameters were the modified psoriasis area and severity and severity(PASI), the clinical effects and the adverse effects of treatment. Results 42 patients finished the treatment. After 10 treatments and 20 treatments, the markedly effective rate were 73.8% and 85.7%. The main adverse effects were pigmentation and pruritus, incidence rate was 47.6%. Conclusions 308nm excimer laser is effective and safe in the treatment of facial psoriasis without severe adverse effects.
