Arsenic keratosis,Bowen’s disease and multiple squamous cell carcinoma in a patient with psoriasis: a case report

Abstract:

[Abstract] A case of arsenical keratosis ,Bowen’s disease and multiply squamous cell carcinoma in a patient with psoriasis is reported. A 55-year-old male with a 25-year-history of psoriasis has an arsenic intake history for treatment of 8 years, presented with a history of tumor on the right leg for 3 years, and multiply keratotic papules on the trunk and extremities for 2 years, aggravating for 5 months. Surgical therapy on 10 skin lesions was performed. Histopathology of the skin lesions showed, of which, one lesion as Bowen’s disease, four as squamous cell carcinoma, all else as arsenical keratosis. It’s worth clinicians being aware of the long-term effect of arsenic containing medicines and avoiding unregulated use of such remedies.
