Abstract: Objective To study the relationship between insulin-like growth factor Ⅰ receptor(IGFⅠ R)and active psoriasis. Methods The skin biopsies from active psoriatic lesions in fifteen cases with psoriasis and ten normal persons were investigated by immunohistochemical technique, RT-PCR and in situ hybridization. Results The expressions of IGF IR protein and mRNA were located on the basal cell layers and prickle cell layers. There was significant difference of mRNA expression between the normal and psoriatic groups(P<0.01).Condusion The increased expression of IGF IR protein and mRNA may mediate the hyperplasia and parakeratosis of keratinocytes in active psoriasis.
