Abstract: 【Abstract】 Three cases of sporotrichosis presenting with Majocchi granuloma-like histopathological features were reported. Among these cases, two were children and one was an adult; all had resided in rural areas for a long time. Skin lesions were all located on the face and manifested as erythematous plaques, covered with a small amount of yellow crusts and desquamation. Histopathological examination in all cases showed mixed inflammatory cell infiltration centered on hair follicles throughout the full thickness of the dermis, with fungal hyphae and spores observed within the follicles. Fungal culture and fungal fluorescence staining of the lesions confirmed Sporothrix infection. Calcofluor white staining of tissue sections demonstrated both yeast and hyphal forms of Sporothrix growing within the hair follicles. Perifollicular granulomatous inflammation, i.e., the Majocchi granuloma-like pathological manifestations, represented a distinct histopathological pattern of sporotrichosis. Fungal fluorescence staining could serve as a diagnostic clue prior to fungal culture.
