Abstract: 【Abstract】 The intracellular gene expression is characterized by spatiotemporal specificity, and spatial location information is critical for the research of physiological function and pathological changes of tissues. The emerging spatial transcriptomic technologies in recent years can systematically determine the expression of all or most genes in tissues, retain the spatial location information of cells, which facilitates research on cell-cell communication and interactions between cells and tissues/organs, demonstrating unique advantages in various fields of study. Based on an introduction to spatial transcriptomics technology, this review summarizes its applications and value in the research of some skin diseases, and proposes future prospects according to the current development status of the technology.

Key words: Transcriptome, Spatial transcriptomics, Melanoma, Inflammatory skin disease
