Abstract:

[Abstract] Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of daily-intermittent epinastine therapy in the treatment of chronic urticaria. Methods A randomized, parallel comparative clinical observation was performed in 80 patients with chronic urticaria. They were divided into two groups, experimental group and control group. The experimental group was treated with daily-intermittent epinastine therapy (In the first four weeks, the patients in this group were given the drug 10mg every day; in the following 4 weeks, given the drug 10mg every other day. ),and the control group with daily epinastine therapy(The patients in this group were given the drug 10mg every day for 8 weeks). Results The total effective rate of the experimental group was 82.05% and 89.47% in the control group. The side effect rate of the experimental group was 7.69% and 5.26% in the control group. There was no significant difference between the two groups’ total effective rate, as well as those side effect rate (Pall>0.05). Cost-effectiveness ratio of the experimental group was lower than that in the control group, and times of taking drugs of the experimental group less than that in the control group. Conclusions It is effective, safety, economical and convenient for daily-intermittent epinastine therapy in the treatment of chronic urticaria.
