Abstract:

Objective To detect IgG antibody against human tyrosinase in vitiligo patients using expression peptide TYR240-479, and analyze the association between the antibody level and the duration in vitiligo patients. Methods TYR240-479 as antigen, ELISA was carried out to detect the titer of IgG antibody against human tyrosinase in vitiligo patients. The difference of positive rate among different duration groups and the association between the duration and the level of antibody were analyzed by chi-square test. Multiple pairwise rates comparison were analyzed by chi-square test combined with Bonferroni correction. The difference of average antibody titer among different duration groups was analyzed by one-way ANOVA and multiple pairs comparison was performed by LSD-t. Results Significant difference of positive rate was observed among different duration groups, P=0.027,r=0.112. Difference of positive rate between the 1~5 years (including 5 years) group and the 5~10 years (including 10 years) group was significant, P=0.007. Further comparing the positive rate of patients within 5 years’ duration with those over 5 years’ duration indicated significant difference, P=0.025,OR=1.473,95%CI(1.049-2.068). No significant difference on average antibody titre was observed among all groups. Conclusions Contrast to with the patients over 5 years’ duration, the positive rate of anti-tyrosinase IgG antibody in the patients within 5 years’ duration was higher, and which was more closely associated with duration of vitiligo patients. Therefore, duration of vitiligo patients was associated with the level of anti-tyrosinase IgG antibody in certain degree.
