Abstract: In order to study the relationship between two kinds of bullous pemphigoid (BP) antigens, we measured the sera from 62 cases of BP using immunoblotting (IB). The results indicated:230 000 target antigen (BPAG1) could be identified in 30 cases of BP (48.4%), but 165 000 target antigen (BPAG2), in 41 cases of BP (66.1%). Meanwhile, the sera of 4 cases, which identified both BPAG1 and BPAG2 during active period, only bound with BPAG2 during stable period. After analyzing the clinical manifestation, effects of treatment and prognosis in BP whose sera identified different BAG. We found out that the cases whose sera only bound BPAG2 had mild clinical symptoms, the dosage of corticosteroid was lower and the recurrent blisters were smaller.
