Abstract: In order toexplore the relationship between childhood benign acanthosis nigricans with obesity and high insulinemia and non-insulin dependentdiabet esmelitus,to analyse the pathogenesis of childhood acanthosis nigricans,we determined the body weight and plasma insulin in 16 patients with childhood benign acanthosis nigricans,17 cases of simple adiposisand 15 healthy children controls. The results showed the body weight of childhood benign acanthosis nigricans was heavier than controls and the level of plasma insulin in childhood benign acanthosis nigricans was higher than that in simpleadiposis and controls. After reviewing the literatures,we discussed the relationship between childhood benign acanthosis nigricans with obesity and high insulinemia and non-insulin dependent diabetes melitus.
