Clinical application of patch testing of 400 patients

Abstract: A screening patch testing kit developed by The First Hospital, Beijing Medical University was used at 9 hospitals in differeczt regions of China between 1989 and 1990. The results of screening patch tests in 400 patients with diggoosed or suspected eczematous dermatitis revealed that the total positive reaction rate was 69.5%. Positive reactions were most frequently seen with paraphenylenediamine (20.8%), nickel sulfate (16.0%), rubber chemical Ⅱ (13.8%), fragrance mixture I (12.8%), fragrance mixture Ⅱ (12.8%) and potassium dichromate (10.3%). The proportion of responses to the various Eest chemicals is discussed.
