Detection of HIV antigen in patients wish herpetic genitalis

Abstract: Eighty specimens From patients with herpes genitalis from 5TD clinic were tested for H5V (type I and Ⅱ) antigen with EIA. 37 out of them were positive for HSV antigen, among them male 3d and female 6, the positive rate being 46.3%. It accounted For 7.9% (37/469) of the total 5TD patients in the same period. 73.0% (27/37) of the patients with HSV antigen positive were in 20-30 age group. The results indicated that the positive rate was different in difFerent stages of the disease. The spccimens from the mixed lesion including small blister, erosion and ulceration had the highest detection rate (88.3%). It is the authors.opinion that herpes genitalia has been prevalenc in China, and EIA can be used to detect HSV antigcn for the diagnosis of the disease, with the advantage of simplicity and rapidity.
