Keratodermsa tylodes paimxris progressiva:Report of 62 cases

Abstract: Sixty-two cases of keratodermia tylodes palmaris progressive are reported. The majority (92%) of patients were female. Tile average age of onset at female group was 21.9 years and male group 32.2 years. The lesions were poorly demarcated, dry, erythematous, glazed and with superficial cracks. They affected primarily the pulps and paimar surfaces of the fingers and the frazit parts of the palms, and both hands were involved often. 77.4% of the patients were asymptamatic. It run a chronic course. Response to topical cortiro-steroids was poor. 93.5% of the patients could be aggravated by soaps/detergents, cold and dry climate, friction and others. The disease appears unrelated to allergy or inheritance. Sex liarmone disttubance and/or microcirculation abnormality may play an important roe in the aetiology.
