Abstract:

【Abstract】 Objective To observe the therapeutic efficacy and safety of high-energy UVB in combination with the 0.1% tacrolimus ointment in the treatment for vitiligo. Methods 90 patients were randomly divided into 3 groups. Each group included 30 patients. Group A as treatment group was treated with high-energy UVB therapy as well as the 0.1% tacrolimus ointment. Group B as comparison group 1 was treated only with high-energy UVB therapy. The method of the therapy was the same as Group A. Group C as comparison group 2 was treated only with the 0.1% tacrolimus ointment by means of applying it to affected parts, twice a day. The observing period for each group was no more than 12 weeks. Photos were taken and compared during the treatment. Results After completing no more than 12 week’s treatment, the total rate of efficacy was 83.33% for Group A (the treatment group). The total rate of efficacy was 50.0% and 43.33% respectively for Group B (the comparison group 1) and Group C (the comparison group 2). The differences of the total rates of efficacy were of significance by comparison respectively between Group A and Group B and between Group A and Group C (p<0.05). The differences of the average time of color restoration were of significance by comparison respectively between Group A and Group B and between Group A and Group C (p<0.05). The therapeutic efficacy of lesions to different parts was of significance by comparison for 3 groups of patients (p<0.05). The adverse reaction of 3 groups’ patients was trivial during the treatment, and it did not affect following-up therapy after symptomatic treatment. Conclusions: The therapeutic efficacy is great and the safety is high in the treatment for vitiligo by combining high-energy UVB with the 0.1% tacrolimus ointment.
