Observation on the topical application of Paris palyphylla Smith tincture in treating patients and animals with caterpillar and bee sting dermatitis

Abstract: This article is a report on the observation of topical application of Paris polyphplla Smith which is a Chinese herbal medicine in treating patients and animals with caterpillar and bee sting dermatitis. A good response was observed in treating 21 cases of caterpillar dermatitis and 16 cases of bee sting dermatitis with 10% and 20% Tincture of Paris polyphylla Smith. Topical application of 10%.Tincture of Paris polyphylla Smith was used to treat experimental Parasa sinica Moors caterpillar dermatitis of rabbits and guinea-pigs and the marked therapeutic effect was observed,The mechanism may be due to the neutralization of toxin of the insects.It is recommended to use 10% Tincture of Paris polyphylla Smith to treat caterpillar dermatitis. Besides bee sting we believe that this medicine may have soma effects on dermatitis caused by some other insects bite or sting.The Paris polyphylla Smith and the caterpillar of Parasa esinica Moors which we used had been identified.
