Abstract: Relationship between pityriasis rosea and Coxsackie B virus (CBV) infection was studied by virologic and immunologic methods. The results indicated that the positive rate of serum anti-CBV(B group)IgM antibody of the patients in acute stage was significantly higher than that of heahhy control. The level of serum circulating immune complex in acute stage was significantly higher than that in convalescent stage.Neutralization tests and virus isolation also proved that the patients was infected by CBV.These results suggest that the pathogenesis of pityriasis rosea may be related to CBV in fection, and CIC,which was composed of CBV and its antibody, led to the immunopathological damage of the patients.
