Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression of ICAM-1 in human malignant melanoma (MM)cell lines and its clinical significance. Methods Human MM cell lines MM8.1 were cultured and analyzed by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR), the cell shape, cell growth ability and ICAM-1 by mRNA expression under the stimulation of hyperthermia or cytokines were observed. Results Hyperthermia、γ-IFN and TNF-α could change cell shape, reduce cell growth ability and increase the expression of ICAM-1.IL-2 could not influence the cell shape and the expression of ICAM-1.Conclusion The expression of ICAM-1 in MM cell lines may be correlated with the cell destruction, which provides theoretical basis of supplementary therapy for MM with hyperthermia、IFNγ and TNFα.
