Abstract:
Objective To investigate the expression of osteopontin (OPN)and membrane-type 1 matrix metalloproteinase (MT1-MMP),and the relationship of OPN and MT1-MMP in psoriasis vulgaris. Methods Expression of OPN and MT1-MMP was measured by immunohistochemical SP method in 21 patients with Psoriasis vulgaris and 16 healthy individuals. Results OPN and MMP-14 were expressed respectively in 85.7% and 80.9% of 21 psoriasis vulgaris specimens; both of them were 62.5% in 16 healthy individuals specimens . There was a significant difference between psoriatic lesional and normal epidermis by x2 test(both p<0.05). There was no correlation between the expression of OPN and MT1-MMP,with age ,sex(p>0.05).Eleven cases were positive for both OPN and MT1-MMP,3 negative for either OPN or MT1-MMP.Conclusion Both OPN and MT1-MMP were overexpressed in psoriasis vulgaris.
