Abstract:

Objective To explore the relationship between expressions of heat shock protein90(HSP90) α,βmRNA in peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) of patients with polymyositis/dermatomyositis(PM/DM) and the efficacy of glucocorticoid(GC) therapy. Methods Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) was used to semiquantite the expressions of HSP90) α,βin PBMC of 29 cases of PM/DM patients sensitive to GC,15 cases of PM/DM patients resistant to GC and 25 cases of the normal control. Results The expressions of α,βmRNA in PBMC both of PM/DM patients sensitive to GC and resistant to GC were significantly higher than that of the normal control, and the expressions of HSP90α,βmRNA of PM/DM patients resistant to GC was significantly higher than that of PM/DM patients sensitive to GC. Conclusion The higher expression of HSP90α,βmRNA in PBMC of PM/DM patients may be correlated with PM/DM resistant to GC therapy.
