Abstract: Objective To detect the levels of cytokine IL-2,IL-12,IFN-γand IL-4 secreted by peripheral CD8+ T lymphocytes in patients with condyloma acuminatum (CA).Methods Flow cytometry was employed to study the expression of cytokines IL-2,-12,INF-γand IL-4 in CD8+ T lymphocytes in the peripheral blood of 60 patients with CA and 20 healthy controls. Results The percentage of CD8+ T lymphocytes producing IL-2,IL-12 and IFN-γwere significantly lower in CA patients than that in healthy controls (P<0.001),while the percentage of IL-4-producing CD8+ T lymphocytes was of no significant difference between two groups. The ratio of Tc1/Tc2 was also decreased in CA patients as compared with the healthy controls (P<0.001).Conclusion The quantity of Tc1 cells and the ratio of Tc1/Tc2 are significantly lower in CA patients than those in healthy controls.
