Abstract: Objective To study the clinical features and treatment modality of livedoid vasculitis. Methods Clinical data from 20 patients with livedoid vasculitis were analyzed retrospectively. Results Livedoid vasculitis occurred predominantly in females (males:female ratio of 5:15),the peak onset age ranged from 14 to 20 years. The disease occurred or had its exacerbation in the summer months.Among 14 cases of livedoid vasculitis,9 were positive for antiphospholipid antibody.Livedoid vasculitis could be treated with combination of drugs to inhibit immunoreactions, inflammation and leukocyte chemotaxis, and to enhance endogenous blood fibrinolytic activity or anticoagulant effect. These drugs should be selected according to the condition of patients to prevent the occurrence and development of livedoid vasculitis at various levels. It was also very important to maintain the treatment and to monitor the adverse reactions of these drugs. Conclusion Livedoid vasculitis can be managed at various stages by combination of different drugs, but the mechanism of action of these drugs still needs to be investigated.
