Abstract: Three cases, characterized by widespread depigmented macules 2-4 mm in diameter over an uniformly lead-gray appearance of skin, are reported here. The patients (2 boys and l girl, aged 13,15,and 11 years, respectively) all had an early childhood onset,a negative family history, and a slowly progressive course with no tendency for spontaneous involution.Biopsy of the depigmented macules revealed slight basal hyperpigmentation of the epidermis and pigment incontinence in the upper dennis. In an extensive review of the literature,no similar cases were found. Therefore,it may be considered as a new entity of pigmentary disorder.
