Abstract: Objective To investigate the relationship between the prognosis of the various types of allopurinol-induced drug eruption and renal function. Methods Thirty-five hospitalized patients with allopurinol-induced drug eruption in our ward during past ten years were reviewed. Results There was a significant difference between the extent of damage to renal function and the severity of drug eruption, as well as the types of rash(P<0.05).The damage to renal function was significantly related to the prognosis of patients(P<0.01). Conclusion It is suggested that the damage to renal function is closely related to the severity of the disease, types of rashes and the prognosis in allopurinol-induced drug eruption.
