Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of Rhizoma Bletillae(RB) on keratinocyte migration and its mechanism in the treatment of skin wound. Methods An organ culture technique of skin was applied to cultivate the skin explants of SD mice and a comparative analysis was processed to study the effect of RB on keratinocyte migration and the relationship between duration of culture and distance of migration. Results Keratinocyte migration could be significantly promoted by RB, especially at a concentration of 2×10-2 Mg/mL or 2×10-3 Mg/mL.Compared with controls, keratinocytes migrate in RB medium with a much longer distance and earlier time (4 hours earlier) (P<0.05), the culture time and migration distance of both RB medium and controls had a linear correlation. Conclusion RB can markedly promote keratinocyte migration, which may play an important role in the early healing of skin wound.
