Abstract: Objective To study the expression of Fas and bcl-2 antigens on T lymphocyte subsets in patients with SLE and healthy controls. Methods Flow cytometry(two colour analysis) were used. Results We observed thatthe expression of Fas antigen on CD4+,CD8+,CD45RO+ T lymphocyte subsets of SLE patients was significantly higher than that of healthy controls(P<0.01) and thatthe expression of bcl-2 antigen was significantly decreased(P<0.01).Conclusion Increased expression of Fas antigen and decreased expression of bcl-2 antigen on T lymphocyte subsets may be related to the pathogenesis of SLE.
