Abstract: In order to study the mechanism of drug eruption and toprovide a new approach for treatment, we measured the viscoelastic parameters of the whole blood in 72 cases of drug eruption with diferent degrees of severity using Low Shear-30 rheometer and microhematocritor, and 30 patients with moderate severity were randomly divided into two groups, and were treated with Salvia miltiorrhiza and calcium gluconate respectively. The results showed:The hematocrit (HCT) levels showed no significant diference in diferent groups (P>0.05).Plasm aviscosity(ηp)increased in the mild group(P<0.01).ηp0.51251.2,aggregation index of RBC(AI),η',η" and G' were elevated in the moderate group (P<0.05~0.01).Except ηp and HCT,all parameters in severe group were more markedly increased than those in the moderate group. It was clear that the change of blood viscosity was not caused by HCT.The more severe was the patient, the more in creased was the aggregation of RBC,but the less was the deformability of RBC.These parameters provided an objective criterion for judging the severity of drugeruption. It is the author's opinion that the hemorheological abnormalities may be one of the important factors in the development of drug eruption, and Salvia miltiorhiza may have good the rapeutic efect for drug eruption.
