Abstract: The rate of platelet spontaneous aggregation and the rate of aggregation induced by arachidonic acid(AA),and adenosine diphosphate(ADP) in 60 patients with SLE were significantly higher than those in controls (P<0.01),especialy in those of progresive stage, with renallesion and hypocomplementemia.Platelet spontaneous aggregation rate was positively correlated with increased CIC which suggests that the spontaneous aggregation rate could be used as one of the indexes for hypercoagulation state in SLE.Inaddition,it was found that tea flavanols could inhibit platelet aggregation induced by ADP,adrenaline and AA in patients with SLE.The efect of tea flavanols increased with increasing concentrations, and could increase plasm a cAMP level after platelet aggregation. It suggests that tea flavanols may exert an action on the metabolic link in prostaglandins, and be of value for the treatment of SLE patients complicated with hypercoagulation state.
