Abstract: In order to improve multidrug treatment (MDT) regimens for leprosy patients,we stud-ied the activity of the combination of several new bacteriocidal drugs against M.leprae in the nude mice. M.leprae-infected nude mice were treated from day 84 to 179 after inoculation using kinetic method.We evaluated three regimens..minocycline(M) 0.01%+dapsone(D)0.001%;M+D+ofloxacin(O)0.05%; M+D+refampicin(R)0.01% in diet.The results indicated that there were additive or synergistic activity against M.leprae,furthermore,combination of three effective drugs were confirmed to be superior to that of two drugs.However,bacteriocidal activity of M+D+R was the best in these regimens,5 months after stopping therapy,no multiplication of M.leprae were obsorved in both hind foot pads of inoculated nude mice.
