Study on the Adherence of Candida albicans by Isotope Labelling

Abstract

Abstract: In this paper, the quantities of live and adherent yeasts-of ³H leucine labelled C. albicans to epithelial cells of intestinal mucosa of mouse were determined and compared with colony forming unit (CFU) determination. The results indicated that the quantities of C. albicans and the adherent yeasts determined by the both methods were correlated. Isotope labelling can be used in the quantitation of adherence of C. albicans, especially for large sample size, it is fast,simple and accurate.
