Abstract: The levels of soluble IL-2R were measured by a ELISA sandwich assay in 34 patients with systemic lupus erythcmatosus and 30 normal controls. The relationship between the levels of sIL-2R and disease activity, other clinical and laboratory parameters were evaluated. The results were as follows:①The levels of sIL-2R were significantly elevated in SLE patients compared with controls(P<0.0001).②Elevated levels of soluble IL-2R correlated positively with the disease activity index(P<0.001),but did not correlated with peripheral blood lymphocyte count, immunoglobulin level and positivity of anti-dsDNA antibodies.③levels of sIL-2R over 400 U/ml appeared to indicate the existence of visceral involvement and/or serositis, pneumonitis, carditis etc.in SLE patients. The results showed that serial measurements of sTL-2R level may contribute to understanding disease activity and therapeutic evaluation.
