Abstract: We followed up 21 infants born to women with LE.Five infants had definite neonatal lupus crythematosus (NIE).During the same period,1 additional infant with NLE was found in our general clinic. There was annular erythema on the sun-eaposed in our patients. No cardic lesions in all infants were observed. The anti-Ro antibody was positive in all infants with NLE.The positive rate of anti-Ro antibody in LE mothers with NLE infants was higher than that in LE mothers with healthy infants. It is suggested that the pathogenesis of NLE be associated with anti-Ro antibody.
