Chroaic actinic dermatitis:a clinical, photobiologic and histopatholagic study

Abstract: A follow-up study of 91 patients with chronic actinic dermatitis (CAD) is reported.There were 89 males (97.8%) and two females.The mean age was 58.7 years old. They mainifcsted as chronic dermatitisand eczema, sometimes as pseudolymphoma, on sun-exposed areas both morphologically and histologically. Photoaensitivity was found in all the patients, of which 52.5% showed contact allergie sensitivity also. Phototeating showed that 85.5% were sensitive to UVB and some also to UVA. After avoiding all potential photosensitizers, the condition was gradually controlled. The study of the GAD spectrum and their diagnostic criteria were discussed.
