Abstract: The serotyping of 54 strains of Neisseria gonorrhoeae isolated in Nanjing area was carried out by monoclonal antibody coagalutination assay. The results showed that 23 strains (42.6%) contained WⅠ type of major outer membrane protein, and 24 strarns(44.4%) possessed WⅡ/Ⅲ type, while 7 strains (13,0%,) had both WI and WⅡ/Ⅲ types. It suggests that the gonococcal strains prevalent in Nanjing area at present have not fbrmed serologically predominant straits groups, the reservoir of infection to Nanjing area being resulted from manifold sources.
