Abstract: The PAF levels in the blood and the skin including epidermis and dermis from 27 cases of psoriasis were determined by using the aggregation of washed rabbit platelets. Four kinds of charaeterizations confirmed the existence of PAF in the exudate. The results showed that the PAF level in the involved skin was 1.923ng/100mg, and correlated to the disease activity of psoriasis. The PAF was not detected in the blood of psnriatic patients and the blood and skin of normal contrnls. It is suggested that tie PAF as a potential mediator of inflammatory reactions probably had some effects on the development and persistence of the skin lesion in psoriasis.
