Abstract: A technique of culturing the dermal papilla cells from human hair follicles in vitro is reported. The growth feature and morphology of the cultured cells were studied, and a comparison with fibroblast from root sheath was made contemporaneously. Scanning EM observation and histochemical techniques were used for the study of the cultured cells. The results show that human dermal papilla cells are a specific subpopulation of fibrotrlast in marphaiogy and furtction, and also demonstrate that the culture method used in tills study is sample,reLiable and can be used in the common dermatolosie laboratories.
