Abstract: Peripheral blood lymphocytes actively secreting immunojlobulin G(IgG) were quantitated in 30 patients with systemic lupus crythematasus(SLE) and compared with the number of such antibody secreting cells(ASC) in 19 norxnal controls using Elispot assay. The results showed that the number of IgG-ASC in patients with SLE was significantly higher than that in normal controls. The number of IgG-ASC correlated with disease activity, renal involvement and serologic features. The results confirmed that the number of 13 cells with hyperactivity increased in patients with SLE.The anthars suggest that IgG-ASC may be used as a useful indicator for the disease activity of SLE.
