Abstract: In this article, the Kveirn reaction in 19 cases of systemic sarcoidosis, 4 ruses of cutaneous sascoidosis and 14 cases of other diseases was observed. From the results of our study, the positive frequency of Kveim reaction was as high as 73.7% for the 19 cases of systemic sarwidosis group. Among the 5 cases of systemic sarcoidosis with negative Kveim reaction 4 had received prednisone before testing. Corti-costeroid may inhibit the reaction. No positive changes were found in the 4 cases of cutaneous sareoidosis and 14 cases of other diseases inciuding 7 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis and 3 cases of lung cancer, etc. Therefore, we consider that Kveim reaction is a specific diagnostic test especially for systemic sarcoidosis, but its diagnostic value for extrathoracic sarcaidosis needs further investigatian.
