Abstract: 0.05% CGP 14 458 is one of the new potent topical corticosteroids. Thirteen psoriasis inpatients were treated with CGP. All the the patients were cured or markedly improved within 3 weeks. The determination of serum cortisol levels showed that during the period of occlusive application the levels significantly decreased (P<0.01).This study indicated that, if the extent of skin involvement was less than 20% of body surface aria and the dose of CGP was less than 60g weekly, the regimen of topical application of CGP twice daily for 3 weeks may be considered to be safe and eflective. The occlusive therapy should not be used as a routine.
