Abstract: The paper reports the observation on the skin lesions from 5 patients with pemphigus by SEM. Under SEM, it was observed that the intercellular spaces between acantholytic cells enlarged, the prickles and villi on the cell surface decreased, the cells became smooth and spherical or spindle in shape. It was thought that the pemphigus autoantibodies caused the ultrastructural changes and led to acantholysis.
