Abstract: Two forms of red cell immunoadherence (RCIA) rosette test and circulating immune complex determination were carried out with Candida albicans as a marker in 100 patients with psoriasis and 132 normal persons. The results showed that the rate of positive result in the two forms of RCIA test and circulating immune complex determination were apparently greater than those in the control group. There was no apparent difference among the various forms and stages of the disease and variation in sex (P>0.05).The results of the two forms of RCIA test in the patients with a course of the disease over 10 years were greater than those with their course below 10 years. After an effective therapy, there was an apparent fall in the rate of positive result in the two forms of rosette formation test. In this paper, the mediation of RBC in the immunologic function in association with psoriasis was discussed. It is suggested that RCIA could be used as an objective criterion for the prognosis of psoriasis.
