Investigation of pathogenic Fungi of superficial mycosis in Kunming districts

Abstract: This article reports the results of fungal culture in superficial mycosis from January 1980 to 1982 in Kunming.Among the cultures of 614 cases, 382 were positive(62.21%),and 10 different species of the causal fungi were isolated. It showed that in superficial mycosis the most common causal fungi in Kunming district were T. rebrum and T. gypseum. T.gypseum was the main cause of kerion, and in ringworm of glabrous skin T. rubrum was most frequently found.In addition, a comparative study on the predominant species of the causal fungi in dermatomycosis between Kunming and other districts in China was also made.
