Survey of occupational deririatoses of hands due to mineral oils

Abstract: One thousand four hundred and seventy-three workers, who mainly contacted with gasoline, kerosene, diesel oil, engine oil, were investigated for occupational dermatoses of the hands. Among these workers, 562 cases had occupational dermatoses of varying degrees.The morbidity rate was 38.2%.The main skin manifestations were dry and rough skin(morbidity 39.8%).keratosis and fissure(14.9%),pompholyx-like lesions(19.6%) and nail chaages(26.7%).A large proportion of the patients, with nail change manifested as platonychia. In addition there were verruca plane-like lesioas in 11 cases and tinea manuum is 17 cases.
